Luxury car hire in Estepona
Estepona has changed character over the past decade: the old town, with its potted-flower streets and mural trail, now draws visitors who used to stop at Marbella. It is far enough from the airport that taxis hurt, and spread out enough that going without a car narrows the trip considerably.
Why a car makes sense here
Scattered developments
Dozens of residential complexes sit between Estepona and Casares, separated by kilometres of the A-7. Without a car, every dinner or beach trip depends on someone else.
The road to Casares
The MA-8300 climbs to Casares in twenty minutes of tight bends and ends in one of Málaga's most photographed white villages. A short drive that justifies renting something interesting on its own.
Port and beaches
The marina and the western coves are well away from the centre. With beach kit or golf clubs, a comfortable SUV beats a low sports car.
Good to know
Nearly an hour from AGP, and the AP-7 earns its toll
Estepona sits around 80 kilometres from the airport: 50 minutes on the AP-7, up to an hour and a half on the A-7 in August. The toll is about €12 and only worth it if you arrive late in the day.
The old town has car parks, not streets
The flowerpot lanes are pedestrian. The Plaza ABC and marina car parks leave you five minutes from the centre and save circling Avenida San Lorenzo for a space.
The New Golden Mile is built for driving
The stretch between Estepona and San Pedro strings together urbanisations, hotels and golf courses that sit far apart. Without a car every trip is a €20 taxi; with one, ten minutes.
Here the SUV is the default
The hillside estates — El Paraíso, Selwo, Los Reales — are reached up long ramps with speed bumps. That is why Estepona books more SUVs than sports cars.
A convertible for the New Golden Mile
The flat stretch between Estepona and San Pedro, sea on one side and golf courses on the other, is where an open roof makes most sense around here.
Which car suits best
Estepona is mostly long villa stays: the Audi RS Q8, Porsche Cayenne and Range Rover Evoque are the usual picks, with the Mercedes GLS when the whole family travels.

Frequently asked questions
Is delivery to Estepona free?
Yes. Estepona is inside our free delivery zone along with Marbella and Fuengirola: we bring the car to your villa, hotel or apartment at no extra charge.
How long is the drive from Málaga airport?
About 50 minutes on the AP-7. Coming down the A-7 in peak August, allow 75 to 90 minutes.
Which car do you recommend for the hillside urbanisations?
An SUV. The climbs to El Paraíso, Selwo or Los Reales have long ramps and speed bumps; a Macan, an SQ5 or an X5 take them comfortably. A low sports car scrapes on some entrances.
Can I drive to Sotogrande or Casares?
Yes, both are under half an hour on the AP-7 and inside our service area. Note that driving is limited to Spanish territory.
What documents do I need?
A valid licence held at least two years, passport or ID card, and a credit card in the driver's name for the deposit. Minimum age is 25.
How does the fuel policy work?
Full to full: you get the car with a full tank and return it the same way. The nearest station to the centre is on Avenida Juan Carlos I.
What does a luxury car cost in Estepona?
From €60/day on the eight-to-thirty-day tier and from €120 for one or two. Delivery in Estepona is free.
Which SUVs are available in Estepona?
All eleven in the fleet, from the Range Rover Evoque to the Porsche Cayenne. For the hillside estates we suggest a Macan, SQ5 or X5.
