Luxury car hire in Fuengirola
Fuengirola is one of the densest towns on the coast, with eight kilometres of unbroken promenade. It is easy to walk within the town, but falls short the moment you want to see the rest of the area: the white villages, Marbella and the sierra are beyond what the local train covers.
Why a car makes sense here
A central base
It sits halfway between the airport and Marbella, which makes it a good base camp. Both Málaga city and Estepona are under an hour away.
The climb to Mijas Pueblo
Seven kilometres of ascent separate Fuengirola from Mijas Pueblo at over four hundred metres. It is the most repeated excursion in the area and takes a quarter of an hour.
Summer traffic
The centre gridlocks in August and street parking is scarce. Choose accommodation with a space, or use the marina and Sohail castle car parks.
Good to know
Half an hour from AGP, even without the toll
Fuengirola sits 30 kilometres from the airport and the free A-7 covers it in about 30 minutes outside rush hour. It is one of the few spots on the coast where the toll road does not pay off.
Central parking means blue zone or underground
Almost all street parking downtown is paid blue zone. The Plaza de la Constitución and fairground car parks cover a full day for less than a stack of tickets.
Eight kilometres of promenade split the town
The seafront walk separates the beach from the avenue, so crossing town means driving inland. In August, Avenida Jesús Santos Rein crawls between seven and nine in the evening.
Luxury cars in a town that is not
Fuengirola is dense, flat and practical, so a luxury car here is rented to leave it: Marbella, Mijas Pueblo, the sierra. Inside the town, the more compact the better.
What gets booked here
Mid-sized SUVs and convertibles. A GLC or a Macan enters the central car parks without drama; a seven-seat GLS sends you looking for a space at the fairground.
Which car suits best
Fuengirola suits nimble, easy-to-park cars: Audi RS3, Mercedes C Cabrio, or the BMW X5 for a group. In summer the convertible gets the most use.

Frequently asked questions
Is delivery to Fuengirola free?
Yes — Fuengirola marks the eastern edge of our free delivery radius, along with Marbella and Estepona. We bring the car to your hotel, apartment or the marina.
How long is the drive from the airport?
About 30 minutes on the toll-free A-7. In high season, 40 to 50 minutes because of Torremolinos and Benalmádena traffic.
Which car is comfortable here?
Anything mid-sized. Fuengirola is flat and compact; parking is the constraint, so a GLC or a Macan beats a seven-seat GLS.
Can I drive up to Mijas Pueblo from here?
Yes, fifteen minutes on the A-387 with climbing bends. There is a large car park at the village entrance next to the viewpoint.
Do I have to return the car to the same place?
No. We collect wherever suits you: in Fuengirola, elsewhere on the coast, or straight at the airport.
What mileage is included?
Between 150 and 200 km a day depending on the model. That is plenty for the coast; if you are planning Granada or Seville, tell us and we adjust it in advance.
Do you hire luxury cars in Fuengirola?
Yes, and delivery is free: Fuengirola marks the eastern edge of our no-charge radius along with Marbella and Estepona. We bring the car to the hotel, the apartment or the marina.
Which convertible do you suggest from Fuengirola?
A Mercedes C Cabrio or a Mustang. The climb to Mijas Pueblo on the A-387 with the roof down is the short drive people repeat most from here.
