Luxury car hire in Benahavís
Benahavís is a mountain village seven kilometres inland surrounded by some of Europe's most exclusive estates, La Zagaleta among them. A car is not optional here: there is no useful public transport, villas are scattered across the hillsides and every journey means mountain road.
Why a car makes sense here
A climb with real gradient
The approach from San Pedro rises on a narrow road of continuous bends. Ground clearance matters — very low sports cars struggle on some private driveways.
Dining capital
The village is said to have more restaurants per resident than anywhere else in the province. You dine up and sleep down, or the reverse, so the car works daily in both directions.
Golf
La Quinta, Marbella Club Golf Resort and other courses are spread across the valley. With clubs in the boot, a large SUV is far more practical than a coupé.
Good to know
Seven kilometres of curves up from the coast
You climb from San Pedro or Guadalmina on the A-7175: seven kilometres of tight bends, about fifteen minutes. The stretch has no continuous street lighting at night, so take it steady.
Park at the entrance to the village
The old streets take one car at a time and many are pedestrian. The car park by the road at the entrance is the sensible choice: every restaurant is under five minutes from there.
La Zagaleta and El Madroñal sit higher up
The gated estates are above the village, with long ramps and access control. Send us the plot name and gatehouse: we deliver inside, not at the estate entrance.
Which car suits best
For Benahavís we suggest SUVs: Porsche Cayenne, Audi RS Q8, BMW X5 or X7. If the plan includes dropping down to the coast, the Porsche Macan balances height and handling.

Frequently asked questions
Can you deliver inside La Zagaleta or El Madroñal?
Yes. We need the resident's name and plot number so security lets us through; the car arrives at the house door.
How long is the drive from the airport?
About 55 minutes: AP-7 to San Pedro, then fifteen minutes of climbing. On the free A-7 in summer it can pass an hour and twenty.
Which car handles the village road well?
An SUV or a sports car with standard suspension. The bends are tight but the tarmac is good; what troubles a very low car is the speed bumps inside the estates, not the road itself.
Can you reach the restaurants without a car?
In practice, no. Benahavís is seven kilometres from the coast with no useful public transport at night, and a taxi back to Marbella runs about €35.
Is delivery to Benahavís charged?
We are on the Estepona–Marbella–Fuengirola axis, so delivery is free. Just tell us the time and the exact spot.
Is it worth driving down to the beach every day?
It is fifteen minutes to Guadalmina and twenty to Puerto Banús. With your own car the village works as a quiet base; without one it is isolated.
