Luxury car hire in Frigiliana
Frigiliana keeps its Moorish street plan intact: steep lanes, steps and whitewashed houses three hundred metres above Nerja. It is considered one of Andalusia's best-preserved villages and allows no traffic in the old quarter.
Why a car makes sense here
Six kilometres from Nerja
The climb is short but very twisty, with sea views the whole way.
Park at the bottom
The old quarter is pedestrian; the car parks are at the village entrance and fill by midday.
Sierras de Tejeda
Mountain routes into the natural park start here, with no public transport access.
Good to know
Seven kilometres from Nerja, all of it uphill
The road from Nerja is narrow and climbs without a break. With tour coaches coming down mid-morning, the passing points ask for patience: go up early or after five.
The Moorish quarter takes no cars, full stop
The old streets are stepped and a metre and a half wide. The car stays in the entrance car parks and you walk up; comfortable shoes help.
Parking high or low changes the walk
There is a car park at the lower entrance and another further up. The upper one saves the steepest part of the climb, and in summer it fills before eleven.
Which car suits best
An agile car for the climb: Audi RS3, Porsche Macan, or a convertible on a good day.

Frequently asked questions
Do you bring the car to Frigiliana?
Yes. It sits outside the free radius, so we confirm the transfer when you book and tell you the amount first.
How long is the drive from the airport?
About 55 minutes: 50 to Nerja on the A-7 and five to seven climbing.
Which car suits this road?
A narrow one with good visibility. Passing a coach is tight: a GLC, a Macan or a compact convertible is the sensible pick.
Can I park inside the village?
Not in the old quarter. The entrance car parks are the only option and the upper village is walked.
Do I need a car if I stay in Frigiliana?
Yes, for everything that is not the village itself. Nerja, the beach and the large supermarkets are below, and buses are sparse out of season.
What if I drive up in a large car?
It is possible, with more manoeuvring. If you have booked accommodation in the old quarter, ask them about access: some have their own space, some do not.
