Luxury car hire in Ronda
Ronda sits at nine hundred metres, split by El Tajo gorge and joined by the Puente Nuevo. This is not the coast: it is the province's most visited inland destination and the end of Andalusia's best-known mountain road.
Why a car makes sense here
The A-397 from San Pedro
Fifty kilometres of continuous bends climbing nearly a thousand metres. It is why many people rent a car for this day alone.
Parking in Ronda
The old town is narrow and access-restricted; central car parks fill by mid-morning.
Wineries and white villages
Setenil, Grazalema and the Serranía wineries lie half an hour apart, with no useful transport between them.
Good to know
Two ways up, and they are nothing alike
From the coast you climb the A-397 from San Pedro: 50 minutes of continuous curves. From Málaga, the A-357 then the A-367 is longer but far straighter — an hour and forty, without the queasiness.
At 750 metres the weather is not the beach's
In winter Ronda wakes up foggy and up to five degrees colder than the coast. If you drive up in January, leave in daylight and expect damp tarmac in the shade.
The old town is walked; the car stays above
The streets by the Puente Nuevo are narrow and one-way. The Martínez Astein and El Socorro car parks leave the bridge five minutes away on foot.
Which car suits best
For the A-397 you want something composed: Porsche 718, Porsche 911, Audi RS3. For a larger group, a well-sorted SUV.

Frequently asked questions
Do you bring the car all the way to Ronda?
Yes, though it lies outside the free delivery radius: we confirm the transfer amount when you book, before charging anything.
How long is the drive from the coast?
50 minutes from San Pedro on the A-397, and a little over an hour and a half from Málaga on the A-357. The first is shorter; the second is easier.
Which car do you recommend for the A-397?
One with sharp steering and fresh brakes. It is a hundred continuous bends: a sports car enjoys it, a tall SUV asks you to go gently.
Can I park near the Puente Nuevo?
Not on the street, barring luck. The two central car parks are the safe option and cost a few euros for several hours.
Is it worth staying overnight?
If you like wine, yes: the Serranía bodegas close mid-afternoon and a there-and-back day trip does not fit them in.
Does the mileage cover the round trip?
Yes: about 200 km there and back from Marbella. That fits the daily limit on most models, but tell us if you plan to repeat the route on several days.
