Luxury car hire in Nerja
Nerja sits at the opposite end of the coast from Marbella, in the Axarquía, and runs to a different rhythm: cliffs instead of developments, small coves and mountains that begin a few kilometres from the sea. It is also where the coast stops being flat and the driving turns interesting.
Why a car makes sense here
The climb to Frigiliana
Six kilometres of ascent separate Nerja from one of the best-preserved white villages in Andalusia. Short but very twisty — ideal for getting acquainted with the car straight after pickup.
Hard-to-reach coves
Maro, Cañuelo and the beaches of the natural park lie outside town with no regular transport. With your own car you arrive early, before the car parks fill.
Towards the Alpujarra
From Nerja the road links to the Granada coast and the climb into the Alpujarra. The most rewarding full-day trip on this side of the coast.
Good to know
East of the airport, on a free motorway
Nerja is 70 kilometres east of AGP, about 50 minutes on the toll-free A-7. Marbella's traffic is on the other side, so the run stays calm most of the year.
The Balcón de Europa is pedestrian
The old town around the Balcón takes no cars. The Calle Carabeo and Plaza de España car parks solve the visit; in summer they fill by midday.
Frigiliana is seven kilometres uphill
The road to the white village is narrow with tight bends. In a wide car, drive up outside the middle hours, when the tour coaches come down.
Which car suits best
In Nerja a convertible fully earns itself on the cliff road: Mercedes C Cabrio, BMW M4 Cabrio or Ford Mustang. For the tracks down to the coves, an SUV is better.

Frequently asked questions
Do you deliver as far as Nerja?
Yes. Nerja sits outside the free delivery radius, so the transfer is confirmed when you book; we tell you the exact amount first.
How long is the drive from Málaga airport?
About 50 minutes on the A-7 heading east. No tolls, and light traffic outside August.
Which car suits this area?
A narrow one with good visibility. The Axarquía roads and the Frigiliana climb are tight: a GLC or a Macan works far better than a GLS.
Can I park near the Nerja Caves?
Yes, the caves have their own car park four kilometres from the centre. It is the comfortable way to visit without relying on the bus.
Is a car worth it in Nerja?
Yes, if you plan to move around: Frigiliana, Maro, the cliffs and inland Axarquía have poor transport links. The town itself is walkable.
What mileage is included?
Between 150 and 200 km a day depending on the model. Day trips from Nerja are long, so tell us your plan and we adjust the limit in advance.
