Luxury car hire in San Pedro de Alcántara
San Pedro keeps an unusually regular street grid for this coast, inherited from a 19th-century agricultural colony. The boulevard that buried the old main road changed the town: the walk to the sea is now uninterrupted. It sits next to Puerto Banús but keeps the pace and prices of a residential district.
Why a car makes sense here
Gateway to Ronda
The A-397 starts here, climbing to Ronda in a little under an hour. It is the best sequence of bends in the province and the reason many people rent something with character.
Banús five minutes away
The marina is just over three kilometres off. You can sleep in San Pedro and dine in Banús without depending on late-night taxis.
Easy parking
Unlike Marbella or Banús, street parking is usually available, which makes daily use of the car far simpler.
Good to know
The boulevard buried the road and changed the town
Since the A-7 was sunk into a tunnel, the surface is a kilometre-long park. Driving in San Pedro is far easier than central Marbella: a grid of streets and traffic lights, not alleyways.
Street parking here is still free in many places
Unlike Marbella or Banús, much of central San Pedro still has free surface parking. In August, look two streets inland from the boulevard.
The Ronda road starts here
The A-397 begins in San Pedro and climbs to Ronda in about 50 minutes of curves. If the mountains are on your plan, starting here skips the coastal jam.
Which car suits best
With the A-397 next door, sports cars make sense: Porsche 911, Porsche 718 or Audi R8. For family stays, BMW X5 or Mercedes GLC.

Frequently asked questions
Is delivery to San Pedro free?
Yes. San Pedro belongs to the Marbella municipality and sits inside our free radius: we bring the car to the apartment, the villa or the boulevard.
How long is the drive from the airport?
About 45 minutes on the AP-7. Five minutes more than Marbella, and considerably calmer to drive into on arrival.
Which car do you recommend here?
Any of them. San Pedro is one of the few coastal spots where a large SUV is no burden: wide streets and room to park.
Is Puerto Banús far?
Five minutes by car, three kilometres along the coast. Many guests stay in San Pedro for exactly that reason: lower prices, Banús next door.
Can I do Ronda as a day trip?
Yes. It is 50 minutes up the A-397 and the same back; with a lunch stop the trip fills about six hours.
What is the security deposit?
From €1,000 on the entry models up to €5,000 on the most powerful ones. It is blocked on the driver's card and released when the car comes back.
