A village on a grid, rare on this coast
La Cala has straight, numbered streets — unusual around here. Driving and parking is simple compared with Marbella or Mijas Pueblo; only the central boulevard saturates in August.
The golf courses are four kilometres inland
La Cala Resort and Calanova sit up the hill on a narrow climbing road. Ten minutes by car from the village, and no walking alternative.
Free parking two streets back from the sea
The centre has blue zone, but two hundred metres from the promenade almost all surface parking is still free, even in high season.

Anything mid-sized. The village is flat and orderly; only if you stay at La Cala Resort is an SUV worth it, for the climb and the speed bumps.
Do I need a car if I stay in the village?
For the village, no: beach, restaurants and shops are all walkable. For Marbella, Mijas Pueblo or the golf, yes.
Can I return the car in Fuengirola or Marbella?
Yes, at no extra cost inside the axis. We collect wherever suits, or straight at the airport.
What if I exceed the mileage?
If you tell us in advance, extra kilometres are €0.50 on most models; without warning, €1. Telling us is always cheaper.
